Forms of Google Earth

Second part of my DNAT
degree'sproject at ERBA
Valence.2008.

Forms of Google Earth — part II.

In Google Earth software, 3D imagery, which is the result of work of several companies but also of unknown passionate
people, gives a new representation of architecture. Google, Ilesoft, 3Done, Housebuilder are names that we always
find in the information given by Google, when we put the mouse pointer over a 3D model. In one of my research, I was
surprising the see the name Kevin51340 in the phylactery dealing with the information about The Alexander Hamilton
U.S. Custom House
, close to Battery Park, in Manhattan. This name appeared immediately different as names of companies
which draw 3D models. Kevin... At first sight I think it's the name of an american 3D maker, as they're very numerous.
But the numbers 51340 attract my attention. 5 numbers, like a french postcode... No, I think it's a coincidence.

Curiosity forces me to clic on his pseudonym. Then opens Kevin's page on Google 3D Warehouse website, which contains
all the 3D models that he realized with SketchUp software. "Pargny sur Saulx", "Bignicourt sur Saulx" some of 3D models
have names that appear as familiar. Humm… really weird.

At that time, I decide to open the inquiry. No way, I had to know who hide behind the pseudonym "Kevin51340". The tracking
is starting. I realize that the number 51340 is really a french postcode, the one of Pargny sur Saulx. This little village is actually
situated near Bar le Duc, my born city. In few seconds, I make a jump from Manhattan to Pargny sur Saulx, 8000 kilometers.
After other researches on Google, my favorite "hunt partner", I now have enough clues concerning Kevin51340 and I'm now
able to contact him…

The following poster, which can be fold in a booklet, is the result of this inquiry.
